Ciudad Colonial de Sucre

La Casa de la Libertad es actualmente un museo y es un lugar muy importante que ver en Sucre para entender la historia de la ciudad y el país. Allí se puede visitar la sala donde se firmó esta independencia, ver una réplica de la declaración de independencia, conocer quiénes son los héroes de Bolivia o quiénes han sido todos sus presidentes. Se encuentra en la Plaza 25 de mayo y puedes visitarlo de martes a domingo por las mañanas y por las tardes (excepto domingo). La entrada cuesta 15 Bs (no llega a 2 euros).

También en la Plaza 25 de mayo se encuentra el precioso Palacio Nacional. Fue construido para ser la Casa Presidencial de Bolivia, ya que histórica y constitucionalmente, Sucre fue designada capital de Bolivia a raíz del movimiento de independencia. Así sigue siendo, pero los poderes ejecutivo, legislativo y judicial han trasladado su sede a La Paz. Por tanto, es como si el país tuviera dos capitales. Tras ese traslado, ahora el edificio es el Palacio de Gobierno de la región de Chuquisaca. Justo al lado del Palacio Nacional se encuentra la Catedral Metropolitana de Sucre.

The House of Liberty is currently a museum and is a very important place to see in Sucre to understand the history of the city and the country. There you can visit the room where this independence was signed, see a replica of the declaration of independence, know who are the heroes of Bolivia or who have all been its presidents. It is located in Plaza 25 de Mayo and you can visit it from Tuesday to Sunday in the mornings and in the afternoons (except Sunday). The entrance costs 15 Bs (it does not reach 2 euros).

Also in the Plaza 25 de Mayo is the beautiful National Palace. It was built to be the Presidential House of Bolivia, since historically and constitutionally, Sucre was designated capital of Bolivia as a result of the independence movement. That is still the case, but the executive, legislative and judicial branches have moved their headquarters to La Paz. Therefore, it is as if the country had two capitals. After that transfer, now the building is the Government Palace of the Chuquisaca region. Right next to the National Palace is the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sucre.
